Are cartwheels appropriate at a trade event?

When I was younger I was very good at cartwheels. I could do them left handed, right handed, and with one hand only. I have not done one in quite some time, so I was excited to learn that doing cartwheels in the street is a longstanding tradition in Düsseldorf, Germany, which will play host to the upcoming drupa tradeshow this May. Perhaps this could be the motivation I need to improve my fitness and brush up on my gymnastics skills?

Unfortunately, Pitney Bowes did not need to send a marketer from Connecticut all the way to Düsseldorf to participate in drupa, even though I very enthusiastically volunteered to make the trip. The good news, however, is that we are hosting a Pre-drupa Technology Showcase right here in our newly renovated Global Technology Center in Danbury, Connecticut. This will give each of you from North and South America the opportunity to see all of the innovative technology we will demonstrate at drupa, but without the long plane flight to Germany. And for those of you who are willing, you can even join me in performing a few cartwheels in the hallways.

So let me tell you about our big event…

Our Pre-drupa Technology Showcase is a free, one day event that will be offered for three straight days on April 10, 11 and 12. You simply select the day you want to attend and then register online.

We want to help each of you grow your business, and with that in mind our Technology Showcase will demonstrate how you can move your customer communications strategy from a focus on compliance to an opportunity to enhance your relationship with each and every customer.

  • You will see new ways to implement a multi-channel, highly-personalized customer communication strategy that can help build customer loyalty and increase your profitability.
  • You will learn how the ability to customize each customer communication can also help you streamline your operations and reduce overall costs.
  •  And perhaps most importantly, you will be able to “kick the tires” on a lot of great solutions, including many that we are unable to show at drupa.

For those of you who like to ask a lot of questions, our 2012 Pre-drupa Technology Showcase will offer personalized technology tours that will allow you to interact directly with the engineers and technicians who understand our technology best.

Attendance to the Pre-Drupa Technology Showcase is limited, really.

We are limiting overall attendance to help maintain a personal setting, so if you are interested please spend a few minutes now to learn more about this free event. In the meantime, please feel free to let me know what you would like to see if you were able to attend. To answer the question, “Are cartwheels appropriate at a trade event?” I say “Why not?—let’s try some out while also discussing how new Pitney Bowes innovations can help you grow your business.” I hope I will have the opportunity to meet you in person in Danbury.
