Facing weak projections for EU-wide economic growth, the European Union has released a 16-point action plan whose objective is to double the share of e-commerce in retail sales by 2015 by encouraging the growth of cross-border Ecommerce. Reforms are designed to boost the availability of product and services for sale via the Internet, lowers costs of credit card transaction and shipping and deal with issues including transparency, privacy and consumer protection.
