MapHeroWe are proud to announce the launch of the “Be a Map Hero” Contest!

Do you have what it takes to be a #MapHero? Pitney Bowes is inviting all Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Location Intelligence (LI) professionals to create a map using MapInfo Professional or another Pitney Bowes Software Solution such as MapInfo Stratus and enter it in our #MapHero mapping contest. There are three unique categories you can enter:

1.    Category One: Map for Fun
This can be shopping trips, running routes or errand schedules. Submit your craziest map that helps you save time and be more efficient. Be creative and have fun, anything goes.

2.    Category Two: Map for Good
Submit a map intended to help do something good in the community. It can be a map of organic farms, winter coat collections or food drives.

3.    Category Three: Map Visualization
Submit your map showing us the most creative use of data visualization.

The process to enter is easy – simply click here, upload an image of your map, provide a brief description and hit “Submit.” The deadline to enter is Thursday, May 22nd.

Between March 24th and May 22nd, the public is invited to vote for their favorite maps and will decide the top five finalists for each category. The prize winner in each category will be selected from the finalists by a panel of judges on or around Monday, May 26th at Pitney Bowes Inc. world headquarters. You can read the full official rules here.

The three winners will receive a Microsoft Surface 2 tablet and recognition as a winner on mapinfo.com.
